A director is someone who oversees the creative process of a film production. Famous directors include: Quentin Tarantino, Peter Jackson, Tim Burton

Producer:

A producer is someone who oversees the production as a whole, including the planning, filming and even the editing process. They are either hired by a studio/film company or work independently.
